"Here, it smells the same as my river, a persisting scent I once used to locate myself when I was completely lost. It brings me home to the nothing, vacant nowhere ground patches of grass pathways leading into underbrush, away from floodlights. Warm arms from mud on top sunken wooden crates draw me towards the river downstream, near the shoreline washed away in the bathroom sink.

As I went further, I got closer and closer to home, until I believed I had walked all the way back across the ocean."
